Adding the Category C to your driving licence is the first step in commencing your career as a driver of Large Goods Vehicles (LGVs).
Once you have passed your Category C test, you have two options; begin looking for work immediately, or commence training for the C+E.
Passing the Cat C test automatically enables you to begin training for C+E; there is no need to send away paperwork, undertake a medical, or pass theory tests in order to enrol on the C+E programme.
By obtaining your Category C qualification, you are able to enter into an industry that is desperate for newly qualified, highly skilled individuals. You set yourself up for a career that is varied, well-paid and flexible; many logistics companies nowadays heavily invest in their new recruits, meaning there are great opportunities for further training and continuous professional development along the way.
The Category C (previously known as Class 2) training is typically delivered over the course of four days. From Monday to Friday your dedicated instructor will tutor you in real-life and theoretical situations; they will do all that they can to equip you for life on the road. The best drivers are not only skilled, they are highly familiar with the ever-changing traffic and logistics laws. Our instructors, with decades of experience and multiple accreditations between them, know legislation inside and out; with NEDS, you can be sure you are learning from industry experts.
Our instructors are renowned for their passion; at NEDS, we pride ourselves on our high pass-rate – we pull out all the stops to ensure you get the best on-road education. But our service goes far beyond the training itself: our wide network of support allows us to assist you with paperwork, applications and specific conditions; using our extensive experience of life in the industry, we can guide and direct you in taking the next steps in your career.
In short, NEDS put you in the best possible position to maximise your opportunities as a professional driver.
The first step of the process is to undergo Driving Assessment; this typically lasts around 30 minutes and allows the instructor to ascertain your current skill level, legislative knowledge and driving habits. With this information, they are able to put together a bespoke training plan specific to your requirements.
